Bay Area Early Childhood Funders

How to donate

The Early Childhood Funders (ECF) has an annual budget of $50,000. Funds are used for staffing and resource support for the planning of ECF meetings, Leadership Team and committee meetings, follow-up between meetings, working on special projects, and assisting with joint funding opportunities. In addition, in order to stay aware of current and emerging early childhood issues, as well as to develop joint funding opportunities, funding will be used to support programmatic activities including convening and/or supporting early childhood providers and others, and/or bringing in relevant agencies or consultants to help inform ECF and guide its decisions.

ECF members are not required to donate to the ECF but funding contributions are appreciated. Funding for one or two years is welcome; contributions range from $500 to $10,000 per year. An annual grant proposal is available to all ECF members and invoices can be created for those funders wishing to donate in that way. Progress reports on ECF activities and expenditures are provided at each of ECF’s three meetings a year and serve as interim and final reports for ECF funders. Community Initiatives is the fiscal sponsor for ECF.

Any funds not spent or received in excess of the annual budget will be carried over and/or expended with oversight from the Leadership Team; in addition, when ECF has not met its annual budget, the Leadership Team has the responsibility to adjust the budget.
